Yes, you can! If you have an active Carista App Pro subscription, whether purchased through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), you can use it on both platforms. However, there are some important details to keep in mind to ensure seamless access.
Follow this guide for everything you need to know.
1. Same Login ID for both platforms
To access your Carista App Pro subscription on both iOS and Android devices, you must use the same login ID (email address) on both platforms. The login ID you use must match the one used when purchasing your subscription. This is essential for the App to recognize your subscription.
You can use any of the available login options: Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, Continue with Facebook, or Continue with Email, as long as the email address of the account matches.
Example:
- If you purchased your subscription on an iPhone with user@example.com, you need to use the same email, user@example.com, to log in to the Carista App on your Android device, or the other way around.
- If you choose to log in with Facebook, make sure the email address linked to your Facebook account matches the one used when you purchased your subscription. For instance, if your Facebook account uses user@example.com, you must log in with Facebook on both iOS and Android using that same email address.
2. Avoid using Private Relay or Hide My Email (iOS)
If you are using an iOS device, ensure that you are not using Apple's Private Relay or Hide My Email features for the Carista App. These features generate a random email address, which can prevent the App from recognizing your subscription.
Example:
- If your iOS device uses a random email (e.g., abc123@privaterelay.appleid.com) when logging into Carista, your subscription will not sync properly. Make sure to use your actual email (e.g., user@example.com) instead.
3. Subscriptions cannot be transferred
While you can log in and use your subscription on both platforms, the subscription itself remains tied to the store where you made the purchase.
Subscriptions cannot be transferred between the App Store and Google Play Store. If you want to switch the platform used for payment, you’ll need to cancel your current subscription and purchase a new one on the new platform.
Switching your subscription between App Store and Google Play
Step 1: Cancel your current subscription on the platform where it was purchased.
Step 2: Wait until your subscription period ends to avoid double billing.
Step 3: Purchase a new subscription on the new platform using the same email address for consistency.
Example:
- Switching from iOS to Android:
If you purchased your subscription on the App Store and later switch to an Android device, your subscription will remain active on iOS but cannot be transferred to the Google Play Store. You’ll need to cancel your iOS subscription and, once the subscription period ends, purchase a new one through the Google Play Store.
4. Quick recap
- Use the same login ID (email address) on both iOS and Android devices.
- Avoid using Private Relay or Hide My Email on iOS.
- Subscriptions are tied to the platform where they were purchased and cannot be transferred.
One more thing to keep in mind: While Carista Scanners are compatible with both iOS and Android, generic Bluetooth scanners only work with Android.
